The Story

Relive the grand emotions of 18th-century theatre through the adventures of Baron Münchhausen! This performance pays tribute to the stagehands and technicians who brought their many skills to serve theatrical magic.

The Sabbattini Brothers

Nicola Sabbattini was a 17th-century Italian architect and set designer, author of the book “Practice for Constructing Theatrical Scenes and Machines.”

This book, which was one of our major sources of inspiration, is both a technical manual and a testimony to how audiences behaved during performances in his time.

This is why we gave this name to the performers who bring this show to life. We took direct inspiration from the mechanisms described in his book to design our miniature stage machinery.

You will discover sliding wagons running in their tracks, ropes gathered in their central pulleys, and flats gliding within their frames—just as they did in the past.
