Sensory Show

This show offers very young children and their parents or caregivers a sensory experience centered around that most personal and intimate of senses: taste. Our exploration is based on simple yet sensation-rich flavors such as mint, salty crunch, lemon, and sparkling water.

The Story

After welcoming the audience, the performers invite them to step over the lips and come sit on the teeth and the tongue. Once everyone is settled into this soft and intimate space, the performers offer a tasting of sparkling water, which each participant is free to accept or refuse. A first scene begins—an immersion into the “tingly water.” At the end of this scene, a lemon tasting leads to a second sensory journey, followed by mint and then a salty biscuit.

A Multisensory Show

We have designed a self-contained structure in the shape of a 6-meter-wide dome representing a mouth, able to accommodate 49 spectators. Parents and children are invited to enter “the mouth” and sit on the teeth or the tongue. The stage area is located in the glottis, and videos are projected onto the palate.

In addition to puppetry, we bring in art forms with which we had little or no previous interaction: dance, video, and new magic. With dance, we work with masks to explore the full body; with magic, we spark curiosity and logical thinking; with video, we engage children’s natural attraction to light, colors, and shapes. We’ve taken on the challenge of creating a dialogue between various art forms to offer a rich sensory experience and a moment of shared wonder for young children and their parents.
